Arizona

I arrived in AZ yesterday to visit Mom and Pop. I landed in Vegas and then we traveled by way of Hoover Dam. They've been building this remarkable bypass that allows people who don't want to travel over the dam to bypass it (hence, the name "bypass"-jeez, I'm smart). They've really been rocking and rolling on it and it's pretty freakin' remarkable.

Here's some photos from the official website

This is from July, 2008 and they're actually a lot further now. But being an un-prepared dumbass, I didn't bring my camera.

Here's another view of the July 2008 project.

Here's the rendering of what it's going to look like when completed. Pretty much as amazing a feat as the Dam itself.

And if you missed Tina Fey once again brilliantly being Sarah Palin, watch it here.

Well, going to go visit the fam! Check on ya later.

Sarah Palin on SNL

So, I'm pretty sure we could replace Sarah Palin with Tina Fey and no one would be the wiser. This would be great for us because if the Repubs actually win, at least we're assured a laugh or two over the next four years. Watch it here!

Whack away...

Well, it's official. I'm a shorty. I got the bulk of my hair cut off.

My little pony is about to be shipped to donate for wigs for cancer survivors. I went with Pantene Beautiful Lengths. Check it out here. Pretty nifty hunh? Hopefully, they'll be able to use the hair I worked so hard to grow (okay, to be perfectly honest, it was more just waiting around). Now it's super short and I'm freaking out a little bit! But I'll get used to it and it'll keep on growing!!

September ALREADY??

How in the hell did August fly by so quickly? It's remarkable and I barely feel as though we had any sort of summer. I decided to post some photos of when my middle niece Amber brought Natalia and Jaslein down for Natasha's birthday. They came by and I made Tash a birthday dinner of Eggplant Parmesan and stuffed artichokes. I think they enjoyed it and Brooklyn even liked the artichokes (although she really only ate the stuffing, but we'll take what we can get). The other two (Macy and Natalia) ate chicken nuggets since they are not quite as adventurous as Brooklyn.

Brooklyn also recently started kindergarten and by all accounts so far, is enjoying herself. I'm pretty sure this year has just flown by. The garden is pretty well done because of a couple of weekends in a row where I had to travel to Nebraska, it got dried out and can't be recovered at this point. But I'm okay with that as I have a freezer full of tomatoes, zucchini and green beans. Can't complain about that!

Macy being a ham. She's pretty good at looking super cute.

Silly little girls.

The baby!! Welcome to the family Jazzy.

Ham.

Macy and Auntie Amber.

She pretty much slept the whole evening. I like this kid.

Natalia likes to color and thankfully, I have stocked up on stuff for the girls to do.

Mommy and Macy.

Well, that's about all the exciting stuff for now. My best friend is getting married on Sept. 20th so I have that to look forward to. Then on the 27th, I'm heading out to Arizona to see Mom and Dad (and my Uncle Bruce and Aunt Elaine; and Uncle Tom and Aunt Elaine; and maybe my cousins). I'm pretty excited about it. Enjoy the last days of summer!!

Love,
Belinda
